We Love San Antonio Weddings and Belly Dancers

San Antonio is by far the best city for weddings. Where else can you find such diversified cultures all under one roof (and all so friendly). Sarah, who's father's lineage is Egyptian gave the guest a wonderful surprise with a show stopping belly dance performance. This was a treat for everyone, and especially for those who had traveled from far away. The night was great fun and I'm certain that enrollment in belly dance has doubled since then.

River Rock Event Center

If you are contemplating a Hill Country Wedding Venue, you may want to look into the River Rock Event Center. Plan for 150 guests. Any more than this would be a tight fit. It's a little difficult to get to but once your there it surroundings are very quaint. The price....I'm not sure of but it looks like a good value for the dollar.

Our thanks (and blessings) to those who sacrifice their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom to live as we so desire. Congratulations to Greg and Gabriela who have endured the test of time. Greg had carried their two wedding rings in his pocket everyday without fail for over a year knowing it would only be a matter of time until they were able to see each other again. That's a long time, that's a lot of sacrifice.

Wedding 101 - The Kiss

This is one of our favorite "Tips" It's inevitable that your photographer will ask you to kiss for a "non-posed" pose.
The secret to making this shot look great is to remember NOT to pucker. Puckering is great for ducks not for people.
When being photographed break the lips so that there is a little space between them, come as close to his or her lips as possible without touching, and the rest is history.

Hopefully your photographer also reads this blog. If not, you know what to do!

Wedding 101 - The Dress

FTP POV....and I'll explain that in the months to come.

The Dress really does set the tone for the day. A good wedding dress should fit well, should not follow the latest trend, should convey an aspect of the bride, should move and flow with ease.

San Antonio Featured Wedding

Congratulations to Amber and Roger whose wedding will be featured in San Antonio Weddings! Amber's wedding looked spectacular. The theme was "bling"... everywhere. From centerpieces to lighting, Martini Bar and Lounge. The Pearl Stables set the atmosphere and Greg of Events By Reese put together the details that made the difference...Decor, Floral, Lighting and Planning.
The Pictures....the most energetic and in my opinion, one of the best bands in Austin, kept everyone on the dance floor!

The Wedding Planners

Thank you to Betty Parish for organizing such a beautiful wedding for Joanna and Jason.

The use of the Southwest School Art and Craft made for great transitions from Wedding, Cocktail Hour, to the Reception.

We met BP Lighting for the first time and were so impressed with their attention to detail and the "above and beyond" the call to duty in order to ensure that EVERYTHING was perfect.

Club Giraud - Outstanding!
Alamo Plants and Petals transformed the Gardens

Look for there wedding on the locations page in a few weeks.

Breaking Tradition

Kate and Adam had a beautiful wedding. Very elegant yet did not conform to your typical traditions. This combination is more difficult to pull off than you think. Without the proper vendors it can look cheesy, cheap or just plain tacky. Kate and Adam blended all the aspects of million dollar event and brought them together in a way that was unique to their personalities.

They used bold colors in key areas so that it did not dominate but accentuated the environment. Simple items like placing 26 different types of cakes on each guest table ensured that everyone mingled from table to table sampling each flavor of their choice. Here's the tricky part. Using a quality vendor (ei. Bear Moon Bakery) to do the confectionery design led to the guest truly enjoying the distinct flavors and not just the typical "white with rasberry filling cake".

Adding lighting also gave the venue (Cibolo Nature Center) a whole new look. We highly recommend the use of lighting from a photographers point of view. It has a major impact and can be done without an enormous price tag. Courtesy of Pizzini Designs

O.K o.k. stop calling

It's Bear Moon Bakery in Boerne!

Ask for Paula, she may or may not take your event. Like I said, they don't do it for everyone. But when they do it's outstanding!
